Notable actress and founder of the Bonstelle Theater in Detroit, MI leaves her signature on the Howell Opera House stage– Pictured above is the signature of Jessie Bonstelle from 1887, in its original spelling of Bonesteele. Immediately after the Howell show of February 1887, her name was misspelled as Bonstelle on a playbill in another town. Jessie liked the new spelling and change her name. This signature on the back of the Opera House stage would have been one of the last times she signed as Bonesteele.
